BUKTOP (pronounced: Viktor) is a solo musician singing and playing bouzouki & guitar, from London, UK.
Using backing tracks, Buktop performs Greek, Balkan, World & Global Western music to a high standard, providing for a suitable mood and atmosphere, according to the occasion.
Having own PA equipment and a car makes him flexible and available at any Greater London destination and beyond, including short notice.
Available for hire. Plays regularly at private birthday parties, weddings, receptions, baptisms and christenings as well as various corporate events; also church festivals, World music festivals, New Year & Christmas events etc.
Buktop also performs on Funeral Wakes, Commemorations and other similar events, where more somber music is desired.
Buktop has been performing in the famous Jimmy's Greek restaurant in London's Soho for years, building a rich repertoire of Greek instrumentals & songs ranging from Folk (Dimotika), Rebetika, Laika, Entehna, Nisiotika to Kalamatiana.
Buktop also plays a wide array of music from the Balkans: traditional & contemporary music from many ex-Yugoslavian regions.
An all-round musician, he is capable of adding some well known Pop, Rock or Jazz standards, should the necessity arise.
In the appropriate season, the repertoire is enriched with a selection of Christmas Carols.
Besides playing as a solo musician, Buktop creates and records own compositions, used in films, TV programmes and blogs (see the Audio section). He also sings and plays in several London bands.
He is Head of Music in an international school in North London. Also a guitar, bouzouki and ukulele tutor.
